Glebe Extension

This heritage family home in Glebe had the classic trifecta: low light, poor connection to outside, and it was cold! This growing family also needed an extra bedroom, and wanted to capitalise on views over the city to kunanyi.

Our challenge was getting some northern light in – with limited orientation to the north, high level windows to the living space via an inverted truss allowed the most light possible while creating space + scale.

Improved insulation + windows keep this home super cosy, with almost every room gaining a view of the (currently snow capped) mountain. Better flow within the home allows for improved family connection, with plenty of space for the family to grow in whichever way they need.

Improved connection + flow to outside encourages time outside – the garden is the next project, and they can’t wait to get stuck into it.

Secondhand + re-used items make this modern extension feel cosy + lived in, warm + inviting, and perfectly suited to our wonderful clients.

Blending the old + the new can look and feel so good, and can make you feel at home in your new space. This home is also a great example of clients not afraid to use colour, and we love it!
